..Mk.13:29 -31- Just so, when you see the events I've described beginning to
..happen, you can be sure that his return is very near, right at the door.30 I assure
..you, this generation will not pass from the scene until all these events have taken
..place. 31 Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will remain forever.
God can always be trusted to keep His Word. Knowing His promises is an
anchor for the soul during the storms of life. With what lies ahead hiding
God's Word in our heart will prove to be a great asset. The Psalmist put a
lot of emphasis on the promises of God! We need to as well!
The strength of God's promises are based on the strength of God's
faithfulness. Heb.6:17,18 - God also bound himself with an oath, so that
those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never
change his mind. 18 So God has given us both his promise and his oath.
These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to
lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can take new courage,
for we can hold on to his promise with confidence.
Listed below are some of the great eternal promises of God that have been
an anchor to the soul of many in former generations. Especially for those
who have had to endure an antichrist and anti-Christian environment during their earthly pilgrimage.
Ps.119:89-91 - Forever, O LORD, your word stands firm in heaven.
90 Your faithfulness extends to every generation, as enduring as
the earth you created. 91 Your laws remain true today, for everything
serves your plans.
Mal. 3:6 - "I am the LORD, and I do not change.
Heb 13:8 - Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Heb 13:5 - "I will never fail you. I will never forsake you."
Mt 28:20 - ... And be sure of this: I am with you always,
even to the end of the age."
Lk.10:19 - And I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy,
and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing
will injure you.
2Tim. 1:7 - For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but
of power, love, and self-discipline.
1Cor. 10:13 - But remember that the temptations that come into your life
are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will
keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you can't stand up
against it. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that
you will not give in to it.
Jude 1:24 - And now, all glory to God, who is able to keep you from
stumbling, and who will bring you into his glorious presence
innocent of sin and with great joy.
Jn. 14:3 - When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so
that you will always be with me where I am.
Ph. 4:13 - For I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives
me the strength I need.
Rev. 2:11 - "Anyone who is willing to hear should listen to the Spirit and
understand what the Spirit is saying to the churches. Whoever is victorious
will not be hurt by the second death.
Rev. 3:5 - All who are victorious will be clothed in white. I will never erase their names from the Book of Life, but I will announce before my Father and his angels that they are mine.
Rev. 21:7 - All who are victorious will inherit all these blessings, and
I will be their God, and they will be my children.
1P. 4:14 - Be happy if you are insulted for being a Christian, for then the
glorious Spirit of God will come upon you.
2P. 2:9 - So you see, the Lord knows how to rescue godly people from their
trials, even while punishing the wicked right up until the day of judgment.
