During the transition from King Saul to King David the sons of Issachar were
not only able to discern the times but also knew what to do as a result of it.
Coming to grips with the reality of how late it is on God's prophetic clock is
one thing! What we do as a result of our knowledge reveals our true wisdom.
This "End Times Signs" is not really meant to increase our knowledge of
current events as much as it is meant to motivate us to spiritual action! Now's
the time to get close to the heart of God through personal intimacy with the
Lord Jesus Christ.

        1Chr. 12:32 - From the tribe of Issachar, there were 200 leaders of         the tribe with their relatives. All these men understood the temper of         the times and knew the best course for Israel to take.

Can we know where we are on God's prophetic clock? Is there Scriptural
evidence that we are very close to Jesus' return to earth? There's enough!

We're very specifically told that know one knows the exact day or hour of
Jesus' return to earth. However we have been given sufficient information
alerting us to the "End Times" which precede the appearing of Christ in
power and great glory.

        Mk.13: 32,33 - "However, no one knows the day or hour when these
        things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself.
        Only the Father knows. 33 And since you don't know when they
        will happen, stay alert and keep watch.

Listed below are a few things that should help settle us as it pertains to
discerning the time in which we live.

The Nation of Israel:
On May, 14, 1948 Israel officially became a nation after being conquered
and dispersed to many nations of the world. It was concerned my most
political leaders of the time to be an impossibility yet it happened. It is the
only people in history to ever have maintained their nationality for more than
three generations without a land mass to call home.

Israel's resettlement put a major price of God's prophetic puzzle in place.

The City of Jerusalem:
The center piece for peace in the middle east is not so much the nation of
Israel but the city of Jerusalem. Numerous genuine and noble efforts have been made to negotiate peace between the Jews and the Arabs! The stumbling block is Jerusalem. This is a direct fulfillment of Scripture.

The New World Order:
On Nov. 18/05 a major meeting was held in New York attended by over 750
"gobalists" and world leaders. The "Clinton Global Initiative" headed up by
former US President Clinton was sponsored by the likes of, Microsoft,
Starbucks, Hewlett Packard, Google, Yahoo, Goldman Sachs, the
Rockefeller Foundation and Citigroup. The message this sends to us
confirms the major move to a one world government. From the natural
perspective this is both reasonable and to many the only solution to world
preservation. This in itself does not need to be considered a bad thing it's
just a sign of how close we are to Jesus return.

Revelation 13:7 and Daniel 7:23 prophesy the establishment of a world
government. The term "New World Order" has become a prevalent phrase in
the world's political culture. Mikhail Gorbachev made the term famous, and
Pope John Paul II has referred to it repeatedly. In the September 12, 1990
issue of the Chicago Tribune, our former president George Bush said, "Iraq is
the first test for the New World Order." He emphatically stated that the Iraq
War is Saddam Hussein against the world. The United Nations' troops are
continually referred to as the multi-national forces. The decision has been
made to establish an interdependent community of nations that will rule the
world under United Nations authority. The Bible says that this will lead us
into a great world government. The formation of this government is at hand.

The Euphrates River Drying Up:
In Revelation 16:12, the Bible predicts that the Euphrates River will be dried
up to prepare the way for the kings of the east to invade Israel. This will
happen at the time of the battle of Armageddon according to verse 16 of the
same chapter. The battle of Armageddon will be the final battle at which time
Jesus will return and fight on the side of the nation of Israel. Immediately
thereafter He will establish His kingdom and usher in His one thousand-year
reign of peace. On January 13, 1990, the Indianapolis Star carried the
headline "Turkey Will Cut Off Flow of Euphrates for One Month." The article
stated that a huge reservoir had been built by Turkey. While filling up the
reservoir, the flow of the Euphrates would be stopped for one month and a
concrete plug for a diversion channel built. These things have now been done.
With this newly built dam, Turkey has the ability to stop the Euphrates River
at will. The conditions for fulfilling this 1,900 year-old prophecy are now in
place.

        Rev.16:12 - Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great
        Euphrates River, and it dried up so that the kings from the east could
        march their armies westward without hindrance.

China Goes to War:
Nov. 05  In late Summer of this year Russia and China completed joint
military exercises expanding on their military cooperation to resist US
influence in the world.

In Revelation 9:15-16, the Bible prophesies that an army of 200 million
soldiers will launch a war which would kill "the third part of men." Never in the
history of the world until our present generation has there been a power on
earth that could field 200 million soldiers. However, the late ruler of China,
Mao Tse Tung boasted in his diary that he could field an army of 200 million.
The CIA World Factbook reports that in the year 2001, it is estimated that
China has 200,886,946 men of military age, and this number is growing by
10 million per year.

        Rev. 9:15,16 - And the four angels who had been prepared for this
        hour and day and month and year were turned loose to kill one-third         of all the people on earth. 16 They led an army of 200 million
        mounted troops-I heard an announcement of how many there were.

Worldwide Numbering System Predicted:
In Revelation 13, the Bible prophesies that a world dictator will soon rule over
a world government. He will cause all people in the earth to receive a number
without which they will be unable to buy or sell. We are seeing this prophecy
fulfilled before our eyes in a most astonishing way. Nearly every human being
in the world now has been assigned a number. In Canada it is our Social
Security number. We have seen the emergence of electronic money,
shopping with credit cards, and many people urging the abolishment of cash.
All of these things could not possibly have been fulfilled until this present
time. Only after the invention of the computer could such a worldwide
numbering system be administered.


SPIRITUALLY PROACTIVE:
As a result of what we know we should be moved to action while we
can. We need to make the most of our relationship with the Lord as
we wait for His glorious appearing.

1Thes.5:4-8 - But you aren't in the dark about these things, dear brothers and
sisters, and you won't be surprised when the day of the Lord comes like a
thief. 5  For you are all children of the light and of the day; we don't belong to
darkness and night. 6 ¶  So be on your guard, not asleep like the others.
Stay alert and be sober. 7 Night is the time for sleep and the time when
people get drunk. 8 But let us who live in the light think clearly, protected
by the body armor of faith and love, and wearing as our helmet the
confidence of our salvation.

2P.3:10-14  But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief.
Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and everything in them
will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be exposed to
judgment. 11 ¶  Since everything around us is going to melt away, what
holy, godly lives you should be living! 12  You should look forward to
that day and hurry it along-the day when God will set the heavens on fire
and the elements will melt away in the flames. 13 But we are looking forward
to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world where everyone
is right with God. 14 And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these
things to happen, make every effort to live a pure and blameless life.
